• Is CanCham a governmental organization?

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (CanCham Vietnam) is a non-governmental, non-profit business association that often works closely with government organizations and departments like the Canadian Trade Commission Service, the Consulate of Canada in Vietnam, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs etc. but has no direct links with the government.​ ​

• Who runs CanCham?

The day-to-day operations at CanCham are managed by the Executive Director and office team. The team is supported by 9 volunteered Board Members who help shape the Chamber's strategy and outlook. An Executive Board composed of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer is elected from within the Board to more directly oversee the Chamber operations.

• How can CanCham help my business?

There are many ways that CanCham regularly supports our members. How we support depends on the company's objectives, which is why we work directly with our members to tailor our services to their needs. Some of our most commonly used services are Introductions & Referrals, Consultations, Networking opportunities, and Branding & Marketing.

• What makes CanCham Vietnam different from other chambers of commerce?

Every international Canadian Chamber of Commerce is a bit different. What a Chamber prioritizes and how they support its members depends on the opportunities and challenges of the market, as well as stakeholder needs. At CanCham Vietnam, we recognize that every company is different and need tailored support in the market as well as finding opportunities in both countries Canada and Vietnam. • I want to take my business international, can CanCham support me?

Yes. CanCham offers a variety of business services developed to help companies expand their business bilaterally and start strong when they arrive. Our services are extensive, but in the event that we cannot support, we will refer you to someone who can. Contact us to have an introductory consultation.

• Does CanCham offer fundings for start-ups and entrepreneurs?

No, unfortunately, we do not offer to fund for startups and businesses. However, we do offer services to many startups and entrepreneurs to help them gain funding by achieving the stability and growth needed.​

• What kind of events does CanCham host?

CanCham hosts business events, seminars, webinars, roundtables, networkings, Canadian cultural celebrations, professional development, CSR activities, and more.

• Do I have to pay to go to events if I am a member?

Members receive discounted rates at all CanCham events. Depends on economic situation, the Chamber might sometimes hold free members-only events as well.

• What industry-specific events does CanCham organize?

Every year, CanCham hosts our Crystal Ball Business Luncheon - The Year Ahead which offers insights into thriving sectors in Vietnam in order to predict the opportunities and challenges of the coming year. For the rest of the year, we host timely and topical industry events that reflect changes in the market and member needs.

• Can my business request / participate in events relating to our industry?
