Introducing Get To Know CanCham Board Series 🍁
We are conducting small 5-question interviews with our board to get to know them a little more. The questions aim to learn about them on a much deeper level by asking personal questions that bring to surface their deeper ponderings.
We interviewed Brad Wallis to hear about what what's behind his mindset...
1️⃣ What do you miss most about Canada?
I miss family and friends of course; and also the fresh air, open space and long summer evenings.
2️⃣ What are you most excited about being a part of the CanCham board?
I believe that CanCham provides a lot of value to the community of Canadian businesses and business people in Vietnam, and am proud to help guide the chamber to further expand on that impact.
3️⃣ What was your first job?
It was a summer job when I was 16 maintaining the outdoor spaces for a village in Manitoba, Canada.
4️⃣ What are you most passionate about?
I am obsessed with running – the daily habit, the process of training for a race, and feeling of achievement at the finish line with a challenging goal met.
5️⃣ What are the key moments in your career?
The key moments typically involved moving to a new place – starting by moving across the country right out of university to launch my career with Manulife, then taking the big leap in 2014 for the adventure of working in Asia (Manila, Philippines), and most recently coming over to Vietnam and continuing the adventure here. I have been very fortunate to enjoy such diverse experiences in my career and life and am grateful for all of these opportunities.
