Get to know the board - Thanh Phan

CanCham does networking differently....

Introducing Get To Know CanCham Board Series 🍁

We are conducting small 5-question interviews with our board to get to know them a little more. The questions aim to learn about them on a much deeper level by asking personal questions that bring to surface their deeper ponderings.

We interviewed Quy Thanh Phan Bui Phan to hear about what inspires her...

1️⃣ What do you miss most about Canada?

Peaceful walks and beautiful scenes in the parks, with the breezes. I could just walk for hours there, immersing in nature. And I do miss my brother’s family who relocated to Canada more than 3.5 years ago. I only visited them once in July 2019 and it was my first experience with Canada.

2️⃣ What are you most excited about being a part of the CanCham board?

It is one of the most wonderful experiences to be able to work with a group of professionals towards the same goals, knowing that we are going to contribute and make an impact. Besides professional talks, we do share time over a few drinks and our favorite sports too.

3️⃣ What are you most passionate about?

Supporting and helping people. This is why being a part of the CanCham board is important to me as it enables me the opportunities to work and support people and businesses. I feel truly connected with Rice For Life campaign initiated by CanCham as its meaning truly depicts what I am about.

4️⃣ What is your proudest achievement?

My latest achievement that I am proud of is being one of the founding members of Sunview Charity group which is meant to support disadvantaged families under Covid impact. Within 6 weeks since formation (Aug 3,2021), we have been able to support more than 1,000 families with packages of food including rice, noodles, eggs, vegetables. It would be more than just our gifts that they have received. It is also the warmth, love and belief that they have truly cared for that would bring some hope and happiness to them during these challenging times.

5️⃣ What is your favorite book?

Factfulness by Hans Rosling, which enables a different perspective about how we look at things.
