More than three decades ago, when Vietnam’s educational tool market was still limited, Binh Tay Import-Export Joint Stock Company (BITEX) chose a challenging yet meaningful path: bringing advanced learning tools closer to Vietnamese students and contributing to improving teaching and learning quality nationwide.

A Pioneering Milestone – Bringing Casio to Vietnam (1993)

In 1993, BITEX became the exclusive distributor of Casio calculators in Vietnam. This marked a breakthrough not only for the company but also for the education sector, when pocket calculators were officially introduced into schools, supporting students in accessing logical thinking and effective study methods.

From an unfamiliar product, BITEX and Casio have built a comprehensive ecosystem for applying calculators in teaching and learning, advising and supporting the Ministry of Education and Training in integrating calculators into instruction and examinations. Notably, since 2000, BITEX has cooperated with provincial Departments of Education and Training to organize the annual Casio Calculator Contest—an esteemed academic competition that has inspired creativity and learning among millions of students nationwide.
