CanCham does networking differently....
Introducing Get To Know CanCham Board Series 🍁
We are conducting small 5-question interviews with our board to get to know them a little more. The questions aim to learn about them on a much deeper level by asking personal questions that bring to surface their deeper ponderings.
Get To Know CanCham Board Series 🍁
We interviewed Mike Hebert, EMBA 🇨🇦 🇻🇳 to hear about passion...
1️⃣ What do you miss most about Canada?
It's been 3 years since I was last in Canada.
I miss family and friends and spending time at the cottage in the Laurentians. I look forward to a great poutine with cheese curds, a game of pond hockey, and also road-tripping to a summer music festival.
2️⃣ What are you most excited about being a part of the CanCham board?
I love working on new programs and events that bring the community together. Our recent Rice for Life campaign raising funds for food donation to impoverished families impacted by COVID makes me proud to be part of CanCham every day.
3️⃣ What are the key moments in your career?
The key moments in my career have always come from being open to relocating for new opportunities. Moving from North Bay, Ontario to Antigonish, Nova Scotia for University and then moving from Antigonish to Montreal for my first job at HSBC Canada. Finally, moving from Montreal to HCMC to start a company in professional training for the financial sector.
4️⃣ What is your favorite book?
"The Culture Map" by Erin Meyer, a book about decoding how people think, lead, and get things done across cultures
5️⃣ What was your childhood dream job?
As a child I dreamed of being a professional hockey player. Little did I realize that my passion far outweighed my skills.
